Master Landscape Photography Amid the Autumn Splendor of the Pacific Northwest
Join our professional Washington Fall Colors photography workshop for an immersive experience capturing the most spectacular autumn foliage and rugged alpine peaks in the United States. This field-based photography tour is designed for photographers looking to master golden hour composition, vibrant forest exposures, and advanced post-processing of dramatic Northwest landscapes.
Featured Photography Locations:
The North Cascades Highway (SR-20): Capture the world’s most dramatic displays of golden alpine subalpine larches contrasting against jagged, snow-dusted granite peaks and deep turquoise reservoirs like Diablo Lake.
Mount Baker & Artist Point: Explore high-alpine ridges, fiery red huckleberry meadows, and mirror-like mountain tarns reflecting towering glaciers.
Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest: Photograph the unique transition zone of the Cascade Mountains, capturing fiery vine maples tucked into deep-green pine forests and golden cottonwoods lining rushing riverbanks.
Workshop Highlights & Logistics:
Chasing the Golden Season: We coordinate our shooting schedule around peak larch transformation, including sunrise at Washington Pass to ensure participants capture the brilliant, backlit "glow" unique to these high-altitude golden conifers.
Peak Alpine Accommodations: Participants will stay in two hand-picked mountain lodges, one featuring the rustic charm of the historic mountain town of Winthrop and a second situated deep in the forest for immediate, early-morning access to alpine trailheads.
Post-Processing & Critique: Midday sessions focus on a professional digital workflow. We cover Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop techniques specifically tailored for autumn hues, dynamic range management in dark forests, and portfolio development.
