Olympic National Park’s natural features offer a rich tapestry of photographic subjects. From the rugged, wave-battered coastlines and tranquil, mirror-like lakes to the verdant, mystical rainforests and majestic alpine landscapes, each environment presents unique challenges and rewards for landscape photographers. Whether you’re capturing the soft glow of sunrise over a sea stack or the intricate details of moss-covered trees in the rainforest, Olympic National Park is a destination that promises to enhance your photographic portfolio with its unparalleled beauty and diversity.
In this workshop, we will be focusing on capturing epic seascapes at sunrise and sunset, along with lush, green rainforests that make up most of this epic peninsula. No matter what weather conditions are present, this trip will provide stunning photographic opportunities to beginner and experienced photographers. I have planned this trip to focus on the early morning and sunset shoots for the seascape vistas, with us heading into the rainforests midday to capture the flora and massive old-growth trees that reside here.
Throughout the week, we will have time on site to work on lighting, composition, and settings to improve your shots. We will have multiple editing sessions to provide yourself with ample time to learn landscape photography editing through Photoshop, Lightroom, or any other program you may use.

Subject to change due to local weather and other factors.
September 17: We will meet at the Holiday Inn Seatac hotel lobby at 12 PM. After an intro meeting and meal, we will drive towards to coast and our first hotel stop. Sunset at a nearby beach.
September 18: Early morning sunrise on Hurricane Ridge followed by some local trails nearby to get introduced to the kind of subjects we will be shooting. We will drive towards to coast and our second hotel stop. Sunset at Rialto Beach.
September 19: Morning sunrise at Rialto Beach with stunning rock formations, tide pools, and eagle sightings. Afternoon in Hoh Rainforest capturing forests and mossy trees.

Moderate: You must be able to hike up to 3 miles on maintained trails and sandy beaches.
Flights
Arrive Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA), Seattle, Washington before 12 PM on September 17, 2024. Flights out can be made after 2 PM on September, 22, 2024. Air travel delays are common. Please arrive early, possibly even the day prior, so you don’t miss any of the workshop.
